Putting God's Word into Practice…

Isaiah 5:20-21

on January 18, 2018

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil

who put darkness for light and light for darkness

who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,

and shrewd in their own sight!

Isaiah 5:20-21

So much of the negative circumstances in our lives can be pinpointed back to this truth.  Woe=great sorrow or distress.  What way of God have I exchanged for a lie?  What am I thinking contrary about?  Just like I wouldn’t fill a craving for chocolate with a bar of bitter bark, I shouldn’t fill my life with opposites and imitations and expect to be satisfied, free and joyful.  If something looks good to me and seems good to me, the best thing I can do is ask God for His perspective.  His perspective is always right.  He calls things like they really are.  He is truth!  And He doesn’t want me to walk in “woe.”
